How to Use the Word & Character Counter

1. Paste or type your text. Drop your text into the box, or start typing directly — counts update instantly, with no button to click.
2. Check your counts. The stats bar below the text box shows word count, character count (with and without spaces), sentence count, and paragraph count at a glance.
3. Set a word goal (optional). Enter a target in the “Word goal” box — useful for essays, social captions, or meeting a strict word limit — and track your progress with the bar underneath.
4. Check reading and speaking time. Use the estimates panel to see how long your text will take to read silently or read aloud, helpful for scripts, presentations, or timed content.
5. Clean up formatting (optional). Use the toolbar to switch case (UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case) or trim extra spaces and blank lines in one click.
6. Copy your text. Once you’re happy with it, click Copy text to grab the final version for wherever you need it.

Tip: Most platforms count things slightly differently — for example, some social platforms count URLs or emoji as a fixed number of characters regardless of their real length. If you’re up against a hard limit on a specific platform, treat this counter as a close estimate rather than the platform’s exact number.
