Random Number Generator
Generate cryptographically secure random integers or decimals — including very large numbers with thousands of digits.
ARBITRARY PRECISION
Features of Random Number Generator
- Cryptographically secure randomness — powered by your browser’s
crypto.getRandomValues(), notMath.random(), for genuinely unpredictable results - Unbiased rejection sampling — the correct, industry-standard algorithm for mapping random bits onto a range without skewing toward any particular value
- Arbitrary-precision integers — generate random whole numbers of any size, from single digits to numbers thousands of digits long, with exact accuracy powered by native BigInt arithmetic
- Decimals with up to 999 digits of precision — get random decimal numbers far beyond what a standard floating-point number could ever represent accurately
- Generate 1 to 1000 numbers at once — get a single value or a full batch in one click
- Unique values option — eliminate duplicates from your batch, with a built-in check that stops you from requesting more unique numbers than your range can actually provide
- Sort ascending option — order your results numerically instead of by generation order
- Copy individually or all at once — grab a single value or the entire batch with one click
- Download as .txt — save your full list of generated numbers to a file
- 100% private — every number is generated locally in your browser; nothing is transmitted or logged anywhere
How to Use the Random Number Generator ?
- Choose Integer or Decimal. Select Random Integer for whole numbers, or Random Decimal if you need digits after the decimal point.
- Set your minimum and maximum. Type any range you need — from small everyday numbers to values thousands of digits long.
- Set decimal precision (Decimal mode only). Choose how many digits should appear after the decimal point, up to 999.
- Choose how many numbers you want. Enter a quantity from 1 to 1000.
- Turn on optional settings if needed. Check “Unique values only” to prevent duplicates, or “Sort results ascending” to order your output numerically.
- Click Generate. Your results appear instantly in the list below.
- Copy what you need. Use the Copy button next to any individual result, or Copy All to grab the entire batch at once.
- Save a copy if you want one. Click Download .txt to save your full list of generated numbers to a file.
Tip: If you need a truly massive random integer — say, for testing how a system handles extreme input sizes — just paste a very large number directly into the Minimum or Maximum field. The generator handles it with full precision, since it never converts your numbers into a standard floating-point type at any point in the process.
Free Random Number Generator
Use our free online Random Number Generator to instantly pick one or more random numbers from any range you choose. Set a minimum and maximum value, choose how many results you need, and generate random integers for giveaways, raffles, classroom activities, games, contests, simulations, quick decisions, and more.
This easy-to-use RNG tool works as a random number picker, number randomizer, virtual dice roller, lottery number generator, and random selection tool. You can generate a single random number, create a list of numbers, avoid duplicate results, or use a custom range such as 1–10, 1–100, or any values required for your task.
What Is a Random Number?
A random number is a value selected by chance from a defined range of possible values. In a properly configured random number generator, each number in the selected range has an equal opportunity to be chosen. For example, if you generate a number between 1 and 100, the tool can return any whole number from 1 through 100.
Random values are useful when you need a fair and unbiased result. Common uses include picking giveaway winners, selecting a student at random, rolling virtual dice, choosing raffle entries, generating game values, creating test data, and settling everyday decisions.
How to Use This Random Number Picker
- Enter the lowest number in the Minimum field.
- Enter the highest number in the Maximum field.
- Choose how many random numbers you want to generate.
- Enable unique results if you do not want duplicate numbers.
- Click Generate to get your random number or list of numbers.
For a standard online dice roller, set the minimum value to 1 and the maximum value to 6. For a random name or winner picker, assign each participant a number, then use this tool to choose the winning entry.
How Random Number Generators Work
A random number generator (RNG) produces values that appear unpredictable within a selected range. Some physical systems can use real-world events—such as electronic noise, atmospheric noise, or quantum measurements—to create true random numbers. Traditional methods such as rolling dice, shuffling cards, or flipping a coin are also examples of physical randomness.
Most online and computer-based random number tools use a pseudo-random number generator (PRNG). A PRNG is an algorithm that produces a sequence of values designed to behave like random numbers for everyday purposes. These results are suitable for games, raffles, classroom activities, simulations, number picking, test data, and non-security applications.
Random Numbers for Games, Giveaways and More
Use this randomizer whenever you need a quick, fair number selection. Popular uses include:
- Pick a random number between two values
- Generate raffle, giveaway, contest, or lucky draw winners
- Roll virtual dice for board games and tabletop games
- Create random lottery-style number combinations for entertainment
- Choose random teams, players, students, or list positions
- Generate sample data for spreadsheets, coding, and testing
- Make fair choices when two or more options are available
Important Security Note
This online random number generator is designed for general-purpose use. Do not rely on a standard browser-based randomizer for security-sensitive tasks such as generating encryption keys, cryptocurrency wallet keys, authentication tokens, secure passwords, or cryptographic secrets. For those purposes, use a cryptographically secure random number generator (CSPRNG) designed specifically for security applications.
