Important: if you lose or forget the password, the encrypted text cannot be recovered — there is no reset or backdoor. This tool uses AES-256 with a passphrase, suitable for protecting personal notes or sending sensitive text through an otherwise insecure channel. For securing accounts, passwords, or highly sensitive data long-term, use a dedicated password manager rather than pasting secrets into any web tool, including this one.
Features of Password Encryption
- AES-256 encryption — industry-standard encryption strength, applied entirely in your browser
- Encrypt and decrypt in one tool — switch modes with a single click, no separate pages needed
- Live password strength meter — get instant visual feedback on how strong your chosen password is as you type
- Built-in strong password generator — create a cryptographically random 18-character password with one click if you don’t want to think one up yourself
- Show/Hide password toggle — check what you typed without exposing it on screen by default
- Clear error handling — if decryption fails (wrong password, incomplete paste), you get a plain explanation instead of garbled output
- Copy button — grab your encrypted or decrypted result instantly
- 100% private — your text and password are never sent anywhere or stored; closing the tab clears everything
How to Use the Password Encryption Tool ?
- Choose Encrypt or Decrypt. Use Encrypt to protect text with a password, or Decrypt to reveal text you (or someone else) encrypted earlier.
- Enter your text. Paste or type the text you want to encrypt, or paste the encrypted text you want to decrypt.
- Enter a password. Type your own password, or click “Generate a strong password instead” if you want a secure one created for you — just be sure to save it somewhere safe if you do.
- Check the strength meter. For encrypting anything sensitive, aim for at least “Strong” before proceeding.
- Click Encrypt Text or Decrypt Text. Your result appears in the box below instantly.
- Copy your result. Use Copy Result to grab the encrypted or decrypted text for wherever you need it next.
Important: There is no password recovery here — if you forget the password used to encrypt something, that text cannot be decrypted by anyone, including us. Write down or securely store any password you use before you close this page.
